about your shoot
your pre-shoot guide
Before your session, we will have a call to cover everything you need to know—from what to wear and how to prepare, to tips for making the most of your shoot. This ensures you feel relaxed and confident on the day.
We can discuss about your chosen location and key information, such as what’s included in your package and a simple overview so everything is clear in advance.
We’ll also discuss about having an extra pair of hands to rustle treats and keep your horses attention.
A couple of days before the shoot, I’ll get in touch to confirm the final details, including timings and a weather check.
your photo shoot
On the day, I’ll spend a little time getting to know your horse(s), family, and dog(s) while scouting the best spots for your photographs—including scenic outdoor areas, barns, and stables for a variety of beautiful backdrops. We’ll also take a moment to go through your outfit options to ensure everything looks perfect.
I like to come prepared, so I’ll have water, snacks, horse treats, wipes, hoof oil and some hat options on hand.
The most important thing is to relax, smile and enjoy the experience.
your private viewing
We’ll arrange your private viewing as part of your shoot booking and it will take place around 1–2 weeks after your session. This is your chance to see your portraits beautifully presented together for the first time.
I’ll guide you through selecting the image for your complimentary 16" framed artwork and show you a curated range of other pieces — from albums to wall art — so you can choose what feels right for your home.

Wear something you feel confident and comfortable in—it’s all about wearing what you love and enjoy! Some great examples include country wear, nice boots, a scarf, or a fedora. Alternatively, you might prefer smart jeans, a dress or your riding gear. As long as you feel relaxed and happy in what you’re wearing, it will shine through in the photos.
It’s also a good idea to plan an outfit change for added variety in your shots.
Don’t forget about your horse! Make sure they’re brushed and well groomed, and that your tack is clean and looking its best.

Most definitely! You don’t have to have a horse to enjoy an outdoor shoot. Capturing moments with your partner, family or dog is just as special. We’ll go over the specifics during our pre-shoot call to make sure everything runs smoothly.
In fact, having a friend or family member on hand can be really helpful during the shoot—they’re great for rustling treats and keeping your horse’s attention!

If the weather forecast looks awful, don’t worry – we can easily reschedule your shoot for a better day.
